The end play on the crank and the end play on the cam will cause them to walk into one another unless you cut more than half the width of the lobe which could cause excessive lifter wear. I've replaced starter, both coils, and spark plugs. Compression test shows about 50psi in on and 60 in the other and both have about 50% leak down.
