The Isle of Wight Central Railway (IWCR) was a railway company on the Isle of Wight, United Kingdom. At its peak the company owned 21½ miles of railway line, and it also operated trains on some additional lines it did not own. Trains were first run on what became its lines in 1862, although the company was not formally created until 1887.

English: Former railway tunnel, Cowes This image was taken at the site of the former Mill Hill station in Cowes. The station closed in 1966. Nevertheless, the platform edge is still visible, leading to the mouth of a tunnel which took the railway towards its terminus in the centre of Cowes. This end of the former station is now a small park.
It opened on 20 July 1897 as a single platform station with a small goods siding and this layout remained until closure. The station was reduced to the status of an unstaffed halt in 1927. The station was not a financial success and never brought a large income to managers.
It was conveniently sited close the Midland Railway's Mill Hill (today known as Mill Hill Broadway) station, enabling easy interchange. The rail-motors proved unpopular with passengers as they gave a rough ride with continuous vibration. Within a few months they were withdrawn and replaced with conventional steam traction.
