The billet to billet gap is reduced to 80 mm from 100 mm. This was the restriction of the lifting cylinder power that the total number of billets inside the furnace cannot exceed 80 at a time. This also improved the energy saving modalities. Fig. 3(a) and (b) show the actual inter-billet gaps prior and after the improvement.
